We Will Meet Again by Tarang Sinha is a romantic novel. This novel has beautiful sides of love, relationships, marriage, sisterhood, woman empowerment and parenthood.
Cover- The cover surely is eye catching and has soft colour scheme that mesmerises the readers.
Title- The title is enthralling and the way we come to know the literal meaning of it in the end is just perfect. A well thought title.
Blurb- We will meet again is the story of Paridhi, a mass media student in Delhi. Life for Paridhi is all about course assignments, lost pen drives and urgent submissions. Harried and running against an unexpected deadline, she bumps into Abhigyan, a young, good-looking, wealthy young man – every girl’s dream. This meeting however isn’t one bit romantic. She meets him again at her best friend’s wedding. While he is clearly falling for her she is rude and angry and rebuffs him all the way. However, Abhigyan is not one to give up easily.
Setting- The settings taken up in the novel is mind blowing. I am personally connected to Jalandhar as its my hometown and the way the author has told about Punjabi weddings is completely amazing. Every Punjabi can relate to it. Then the Delhi and Mumbai sequences are brilliant.
Plot- The plot construction is simple and gripping. It is devoid of any digressions. This is a story of PAridhi whose life journey from a mass student to an independent Magazine Editor is delineated in the book. In this course we come across, Abhigyan who enlightens Paridhi’s life in the most interesting way.
Themes- This novel has many themes and the way they cover every segment is impeccable. The major theme highlighted in this novel is Marriage. The story starts with a marriage sequence of Paridhi’s friend where she comes across Abhigyan closely. THen, the other side is of PAridhi and Abhigyan’s wedding.
Love- HAte Relationship-PAridhi and Abhigyan share a love hate relationship which looks beautiful as well as entertaining. The way they argue over things and end up caring or helping each other is worth reading.
Friendship- This book is a celebration of friendship and the way Paridhi and her best friend stay is commendable. Both are each other’s confidantes and the way they stay with each other can remind you of your own best friend.
Parenthood- Paridhi is raised by her father who helps her in many ways. He always encourage her to do things and is proud of her. When he gets terribly sick, Paridhi turns no stone unturned to save him.
Sisterhood- Paridhi shares a close bond with her sister and that is why she takes her to her friend’s wedding. She always guard her like her own child. She even instructs her like a mother and shares secrets with her like her friend. When she wears her dress after she comes back from hostel is sweet. The sisters bond is very co- relatable.
Characterisation- The author has beautifully mastered in creating her characters. It can be said that the author has used limited characters and mastered them. The main characters turn out to be the best. Paridhi is an amazing girl who has dusky skin and is doing mass communication. She is an interesting character who is always busy in her tests, assignments and the way she look at things is different. She doesn’t trust anybody easliy because of a terrible past. She is a true friend, caring sister, adorable daughter. Abhigyan brings change in her life and tries his best to sort her notions.
Abhigyan is a rich guy with a drastic life which he never shares with anyone. He is helpful, caring, handsome and witty at the same time. When he comes across Paridhi, he is surprised to see a simple girl and the way she refuses him all the time. This boost him and he challenges her to win her heart. He takes care of everybody and becomes the apple of everyone’s eyes.
Style- The author has used simple language to convey her transparent thoughts. The story is written in first person narrative. Some sentences are simply amazing. There are certain editing errors which looks like some black spots in the beautiful book. It is not a fairy tale but a common story told in a unique way.
Why I Liked the Book?
I am a Punjabi, Jalandharite and can relate to the location pretty well.
The relations like father- daughter, sisterhood are co- relatable and one can feel that its their story.
