Confessions of an Immigrant-3

Hello lovelies,

I hope you are having an amazing Sunday. In my previous post, I gave the tips the people should follow who are planning to come to India. Today I will talk about my experience in college. So, as you all know, I have taken up Human Resource Management Program in Centennial College. My college life has been a roller coaster ride in this week.

photo

The best part being the classmates. I met many new people from diverse cultures. Everyday it keeps on increasing so I can’t tell the number exactly, although I have the class list. Some of them are Indians so a relief feeling that I can interact in my own language. I won’t name them as I haven’t taken the permission from them to mention their names. I have many Brazilians in my class where I get to know about their culture, lifestyle and how they are dealing with things here. Everyone has a unique story to share. I have met someone whom I admire and she is from Jamaica. I feel she can be my inspiration for a story. When I was asked to introduce myself, I just couldn’t stop telling them about my writing skills. The best part is, teachers also liked the way I introduced myself as a storyteller. Some of my classmates call me Sur, storyteller or sometimes author. It is such a refreshing feeling. Guess what! I have a theatre artist, singer, dancer too in my class along with those HR people, bankers. It is been just a week so I could gather only this much but all are so interesting that I feel like talking to them for hours and know their stories. I know I am talking like Savi Sharma from Everyone Has a Story. But now, I can relate myself to her as how her character struggles for the story.

Apart from these, I met some amazing teachers here. I never got the chance to personally interact with them but their was one teacher whose story I would like to share as I have taken special permission from her without disclosing her name. She is a part time teacher who is basically from some other country. She told about her experience, her background and how she also struggled to learn English. We all have our own accents of speaking a particular language and it takes time to adapt the things around you. I could so much relate to her. She teaches in Humber as well as Centennial College and has done various jobs in different departments of the college. Her day starts at 6:30. When I heard this, I felt like giving her a salute as its such a hard job. Teaching is not everyone’s cup of tea. I felt inspired when I heard about her story. I guess it was the first time in her class only, when I got the chance to introduce myself.

Coming to the education system, its way too different from India. We study on laptop, power point slides. I guess books are the last things we ever talk about. Though some of the teachers lay emphasis on books. Then we call or teachers by name or by their last name. This was the difficult thing for me as I have always called my teachers by Sir or Maam and this is entirely new thing for me. The workload is not much. In India, we had semester exams but here, the exams are divided into parts like quiz, assignments or sometimes written test. We are in a professional course so we are working hard to know the knack of things. When I study law, I feel like I am some lawyer, when I study Organizational Behavior I feel like a psychologist, when I study Staffing, I feel like I am a recruiter, when I study accounting, I feel like an accountant and when I study Management I feel like I am managing things. Every subject gives me a different vibe. It is not easy to crack everything but not difficult also as you have access to the power point slides the teachers prepare and even you get to know teacher’s plans before hand so it is the best chance for us to prepare and know about the things. Next week, they are planning to assign us some groups so I am hoping for the best. I will get a chance to interact with more people. There is a lot to learn from the people here.

Library

I am falling in love with the library here. Mostly library is for reading books but in our college we can borrow laptops, iPad, MacBook, notebooks which is so intriguing. I once borrowed a laptop for 5 hours. I was so excited to explore the things. I always had a dream of using a MacBook so it’s a dream come true. Now I have no regrets, if I don’t have any MacBook. Yesterday, I was working on something in the library and I ended up sleeping there as the sofa was so comfy. At around10:30, the security had to wake me up. It was one of the hilarious moment I ever had here. I wish I could stay long in the library. With this I forgot to tell that our college closes at 11, by 10:30 they vacate the college and library timings keeps on changing.

I guess I told you guys enough about this week. My college is like a puzzle. I am still trying to solve it. I will be back with many more incidents about my college. I guess by next week, I can tell you some of the people I came across. People here are trustworthy and that’s the only thing I loved in the college apart from library. I will be back next week, till then stay tuned.

P.S- I am sorry for updating this so late. A lot is happening here so I got the chance just now.

Book Review of Bogus Read

Bogus Read by Divyamaan is a political satire. Honestly speaking, I have not read this sort of book and genre but when I read this, I wasn’t bored, infact, I ended up laughing. If you want to make yourself laugh, then this book is the best choice.

512u0qSUn6L

The cover of the book is intriguing as the pictorial delineation and the remarks makes you hooked to the book. The white colour of the cover signifies a newspaper where we read all those news.

The title is even more enthralling and you are more curious to know the content inside the book.

“In a galaxy far, far away from Earth there were two countries. India and Pakistan. Both countries somehow remained in a perennial state of conflict since their independence. After badly losing thrice to India, Pakistan has now come up with the ultimate conspiracy – attack the minds of the Indian masses and capture the nation. In a partially successful attempt, it captures some portion of India. The Indian Government, led by its highly patriotic PM, Narendar Mody and His Royal Highness, Arnub Gooswamy, takes charge of the situation and comes up with a master plan of defeating Pakistan, using some of India’s most potent weapons – corruption, political-hooliganism and annoying celebrities. They are supported by five engineering students who, inspite of their otherwise mundane lives, get embroiled in the mess. They set themselves on a perilous journey only to discover how deep the whole conspiracy is and how dangerous are the brains behind it. Will they succeed in revealing the conspiracy to the Army? Will the lost territories be recaptured by India? To find out read ‘The Bogus Read’, an illogically-logical take on Indian politics, mainstream media, cinema and the television industry.”

The blurb is interesting and after reading it, I instantly fell in the love with the book. The blurb had so much information but that was just a start. The entire book is full of surprises.

Through this book, the author wanted to highlight the mind sets of so called Indians including us. These days we are more bothered about politics, politicians, actors and moreover, thos crazy tv serials that has taken away our ability to think logically. Not only this, a wierd imagination which sounds really absurd that our stars being kidnapped by Pakistan. There is an element of absurdity with loads of drama and mockery. I was impressed by the thought of the author, like how he came up with this concept? This book is a must read.

The combination and situation between Indian army and Pakistan army which seems to be linked with some students. These two are poles apart and when they are brought together, this made me realise, anything can happen in a novel and Divyamaan has proved it right. We writers have that ability where we can see those which are not possible in practical world. Kuddos to the author for being an exceptional.

The narration is simple and this simplicity kept us hooked and glued till the end. I completed this book in one go and couldn’t stop laughing. I won’t quote the sentences as every sentence is worth quoting and this might come up as a spoiler. This is the only book which you can pick up anytime and if you read and read again you will just end up lifting your mood.

Tagged Diaries: The Golden Couple

I know its been a long time since I have updated anything in Tagged Diaries but I was looking for a right time and here I am back with a happy moment to share. Last Sunday my grandparents celebrated their Golden Jubilee and it was a perfect time for all of us. We had a gala time in Batala.

dscn2158

Perfect Photo 🙂

Batala is a small town which is 2 hours away from Jalandhar. The function was scheduled around 12 in the noon and the venue was Grand Way1. It is just 1 km before we enter the main city Batala. My granparents hail from that town and our two most important Dadka family lives there along with their two generations. We have a huge family tree and it will take a whole post to write about it so I am exempting that segment.

DSCN2174.JPG

Girls Squad

Iqbal Rai Marwaha and Aruna Rani happens to be my cousin grandparents, as in , my grandfather’s brother. He completed 50 years with his beloved wife and guys, I tell you, he is the most handsome man I have come across and dadi is just a perfect lady to be around our happening family. The nuclear concept of families has separated our families but our whole Dadka family got united at the venue and it was a treat to spend time with happening family.

DSCN2196.JPG

Family Photo

As we entered the place, the place was  beautifully decorated and it was just perfect for this sort of occassion. The snacks were delicious and I wont be talking of them as you might shift your focus to the delicacies;)

DSCN2186.JPG

Winners

Mostly such elderly parties are boring but Sareen family’s parties are always intriguing for everyone. The events started with a statue dance for children below 14 and 3 winners were selected. I was one of the volunteer who had to distract the kids. Trust me guys, its a hard job to distract children. It was fun.

DSCN2221.JPG

With the most Handsome Man..:D

The second game was for everyone. Some of the questions were asked like Whose wallet has a picture of their better half? and many more. So, those who matched with the things were given gifts. This activity completely hooked us.

DSCN2205.JPG

Couple Dance

The third game was a couple dance in which we got two winners. The couple dance was not at all easy guys. There was a balloon in the middle. Since we people had no partners so we clicked pictures of people performing. I was the one who entered in every game and danced like anything. The happiness was overloaded.

DSCN2203.JPG

Blush Blush

Then the last game was to open a chit and sing two songs. So, the words were amazing and everyone sang. The best part was everyone was excited about the events that were to be performed.

DSCN2182.JPG

Wow

After all the games, the cake cutting ceremony along with the ring exchange took place. The Dj tuned the music to romantic songs. So, this beautiful couple was blushing. The love was in the air and it sounded so cute. In all this, we guys were busy hooting.

DSCN2189.JPG

Blushing Couple

Then their was some dance for sometime and later on the lunch was scheduled. Again the food was sumptuous. I was hell tired and exhausted because of dancing like a maniac that I couldn’t duff more of food. I tasted that cutest cake. It was out of the world. After that, it was a time to say goodbye and we all were so nostalgic with happiness overpowering our faces. We met our relatives, cousins, distant ones. It was a perfect party. The bestest part was the family dadka picture. I am blessed to have such a huge family and I wish we could get back to olden times and stay together always. Our hearts are together.

DSCN2218.JPG

Asli Dadka Family ..:P

In this tagged diaries, I will give my grandparents ‘The Golden Couple’ Tag. Stay tuned for more such updates and I promise, I will come back soon with amazing tag for a special person. Till then Like, comment and share this post, so that I can do some bhangra.

Book Review of Blemishing the Odds

Blemishing the Odds by Harish Penumarthi is story set in a storytelling form or we can say it is a story within a story with use of flashbacks in it. Those who love to listen to stories might like this book.

DSCN2041.JPG

The cover of the book is simple and honestly speaking it doesn’t grab much attention. It can be called okayish. The cover could have been interesting though the colour scheme is fine. Those who judge the book by a cover might not like it.

The title is different and can attract the readers in some way. Blemishing the Odds somewhere actually nowhere gives us a hint about the story. So, story is still a suspense for us.

Say hello to Raghav, an immature, insensitive person who is apathetic about everyone else except himself. His life revolves around his parents and his friends. He is among the bad books of all his Teachers. Until one day, when Trisha, a new entrant; mesmerizes him at the very first glance. He finds a friend, savior, nurturer and an inamorata in her. Just when he thinks that everything has been set out in a picture perfect manner, life throws a series of ghastly surprises at him. Will he change for good or stick to his immature stand of “My Life, my rules” and screw it all up? This tale journeys across all the ups and downs a student could possibly encounter. The transformations that a student may endure, the courage and guts one needs to have in order to dodge all predicaments and eventually sketch the perfect end to all his agonies.

If you go back to your childhood when your grandma used to narrate stories so that you could sleep, well yes, you got it right, Blemishing the Odds, is one such tale. The story is narrated from a personal experience of father who tells about his love story. The story is about Raghav and Trisha.

The characterization is good and I really liked the behaviour and beauty of Raghav and Trisha. Raghav is a spoiled brat like other films while Trisha is a new student whose entry changes the life of Raghav.

The flow of the story is average. The use of dialogues, flashbacks, story within a story makes it lively. Then little segment of humor adds flavour. Further, the story telling turns out to be nostalgic and the storyteller is seen imagining the moments. The editing could have been better. The small font size was an hinderance in the reading while the story reminded me of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. So this book proves out to be a  one time read.

Book Review of Wild Card

Wild Card by Asfiya Rahman is an inspirational story. This book has a new set of emotions and I am sure sports lovers especially Tennis ones would just end up loving this. I Like Tennis so I just couldn’t control myself of reading this book.

dscn2044

The cover is beautiful and mesmerising. It is green coloured and soothes your mind. It reminds you of greenary and then a tennis racket is there which clears everything.

The title is straight to the point and the whole story revolves around it. It even reminds us of those wild card entries that we see in reality shows and here something like this happens. The title reveals major part of the story but this we realise once we start reading the book.

The plot of the novel is crisp and it surely catches our attention. We are hooked till the end. The story revolves around a tennis player, Karan Mehrotra who leaves his sports career for the sake of his daughter, Roshni. He us madly in love with Riya but will her absence make him come out of the trauma? Or will Roshni’s love bring him back to the love of his life, Tennis? Wild Card is story of a husband, a father who wants to prove himself, who is not fighting for himself but for his daughter.

Karan Mehrotra is a famous tennis player who is madly in love with his wife Riya and Tennis. Life takes a different turn when Riya dies leaving their newly born baby, Roshni who can’t walk on her own. He is a caring father as well as a husband but this tragedy of his life changes him forever.

Roshni is the sweetest daughter one can ever ask for. The way the author has delineated her character is mind blowing. It is really difficult to comprehend the psychology of a child. SHe loves her father and with the zeal she wants to know more about her dad is impeccable. SHe becomes the pillar of her father’s life.

The style of writing is poignant and lucid. The use of flashbacks and the present makes it amazing. The use of stream of consciousness sometimes leave the reader awestruck. This book is about a beautiful relationship between a father and a daughter. The tennis part is inspirational and this book deserves tobe converted into a movie.

Book Review of The Coffee and The Cola

The Coffee and The Cola by Kapil Muzumdar is a type of book that adds new flavourism in your life. The way the author has juggled with first person and third person narrative is exceptional. The concepts of Coffee and The Cola makes it appreciable.

cc.jpg

The cover of the book is average and has some artistic spots of brown coffee as if someone splashed the coffee or a water colour paint similar to coffee. The cover is related to the title but doesnt gives us any clue about the thought process of the author.

The title is unique and a person like me whose addicted to coffee is instantly in love with it. We surely some clue about it. As slowly the title and cover starts making sense to me.

The book has two plots which gets merged in the end. This concept of main plot and sub plot is slightly tricky as at times things get against the author but kuddos to the author as everything falls at right place. The story has a narrator who is author himself but he narrates about a dear one, protagonist, Rahul and about his life. Radha’s character has traits of coffee while Nora’s character has traits of Cola. All these combined together makes an interesting combination. Surely, the readers get bit confused with these cola and coffee concept but as you start reading you fell in love with the book. I must suggest that do grab a coffee while reading it.eh!

The characters are equally intriguing and binds the interest of the readers. The way the narrator talks about Rahul and his life story is impeccable. Rahul’s character is complex as he seems confused while deciding like what he wants in life. Radha or Nora? Both seems perfect. If Radha believes in eternal love then Nora believes in intimacy, physical love. Rahul is seen juggling between the two types of love. Whom he choose is the rest of the story and you better grab this book to know about it.

Radha is categorised as Coffee and Nora is categorised as Cola. Both serve as a foil to each other. THey both have their set of stories with Rahul and Rahul is the lead which links them to each other somewhere. Radha is ambitious and career oriented while the latter believes in enjoying life, partying and making love. These contrasting characters makes the plot construction strong.

The style of writing is poignant. The use of backstory, flashback and flash forward makes the book glow inceredibly. The author has even included himself in the story which makes sense when the author uses first person narrative blended with third person narrative style. The descriptions remain impersonal. The use of epistolar concept can also be noticed. The unique concept of stating the behaviour of coffee and cola in every chapter at the start. Also, some of the questions dance in my mind.

Was this story an account of author’s encounter or was it solely focussed on Rahul? And the question might sound spoiler so I will keep it preserved. I can generalise by saying that Meera’s character was mysterious. Although, the cover made sense according to its motive but I feel it could have been more better which might have attracted quick attention. I would surely recommend this book to the readers who are looking for unique concepts of writing.

Book Review of Riots of Love

Riots of Love or Mohabbat Ke Dange by Shikha Kaul is a revolutionary thriller. This is her third book and those who have read her other two books can make out the difference. The author sees to experiment alot with the genres and concepts. This book is exceptional and with such type of stories, you are at loss of words.

717eXIdHsNL.jpg

The cover of the book surely grabs your attention and it makes you think that it is related to border as we see a line and this reminds us of Hindustan Pakistan Border line. But the story has something else in store for us but this cover arise the hunger to read the book soon.

The title is just marvalous and it is related to a campaign. The author seems to have been inspired by that. The story revolves around the title and it justifies the theme of the story. The interesting fact about the title is its hindi title. Mohabbat Ke Dange has its own essence and it turned out to be a blessing for the book.

Avi Shandilya claims to have killed the young children of four very influential men of India belonging to four different religions and bearing the extremist ideologies. Aatif Khan, one of the top Film stars in Bollywood Saahitya Nath, a strong politician and the leader of a Hindu group Andrew James, a renowned anchor on a leading news channel Jaswant Singh, a top politician in Punjab standing for next elections The world is shocked to see such ghastly and cowardly act by the man who founded ‘Mohabbat Ke Dange (Riots of Love)’, a campaign that stands for unity, peace, communal harmony and humanity. Will the fathers of the dead children take revenge or are there more mysteries left to be unfolded? Will Avi’s supporters stand by him after his inhumane crime? A gripping tale of patriotism and thrill that will give you chills and force you to think and discover the concealed version of everything that goes around.

The plot is neatly woven and this book shows a thorough research. It might look controversial but it is not. It is just a simple thought which is delineated beautifully through various characters.

The characters are lively and fantastic. Avi Shandilya is a motivational character who not only motivates the other characters but also the readers. Aatif Khan, Andrew James, Jaswant Singh, Saahitya Nath plays a significant role and their children brings a ray of hope and revolution.

This is not only a patriotic thriller but has traces of social novel in it which further has elements of suspense, mystery in it. The concept of flashbacks, stream of consciousness, point of views makes it enteratining. We can also notice wit, humour in it. This book also focus on real life events which have brought a tremendous change in the society.

I am much familiar to the style of writing of Shikha Kaul. She uses simple yet powerful language and can lure you with her thoughts. For a moment you can even picturise the whol novel in your mind. At the same time, it keeps you in deep thoughts and when your guesses are proved wrong, thats the time where the author wins our hearts. As mentioned, this book is in process of movie making and no doubt, it surely deserves it. The twist and turns are the key features along with the sarcasm and witty dialogues used in it. This book is a must read book and I am glad that I picked up this book.

About the Author

14137019

There are a few authors in India who do not fear to take the upstream path and experiment with genres rarely touched by the regular writers. Shikha Khanduja Kaul has carved a niche for herself in a span of less than two years since she entered the world of literature. Dedicated to her passion for writing and exploring fresh ideas in fiction with every new work, she has already penned down four books that cover a romantic fiction – ‘Hidden Husband’, a murder mystery – ‘DNA-Dad’s Not Adopted’, a patriotic thriller – ‘Riots of Love (Mohabbat Ke Dange)’, and a yet to be published psychological romantic thriller.

Book Review of Evil Twin

Evil Twin by P.G. Van is a Young Adult novel. This book has tragedy, drama, romance, comedy as well as thriller. In short it is a perfect package. The author has used almost all the elements of novel writing and makes this book a hit.

51vd2fa70hl

The cover is erotic as it has a couple who are intimately connected with each other. This surely gives us an idea of a young adult or an erotica.

The title is skillfully chosen by the author. The whole story revolves around a mystery which is unsolved in the mid chapters somewhere and this title is the clue of that hidden mystery.

Vinnie lost her parents when she was ten and lives in San Francisco with her aunt and her teenage cousin. She never expected a simple act of kindness would be life altering. Reyan comes into her life threatening to shake up her focus and challenges her resolve. He is everything Vinnie wants in a man and he shows up just when she thought she had everything she needed to stay focused on her life and her goals.
Will he crack her titanium tough exterior and get to her heart? Will she let him into her life especially with what she has been through since she was ten? Will she trust Reyan to help her recover from her emotional wounds?
Will she get to the bottom of why people think they have seen her at places that she has never been to before. Does she have a doppleganger or a twin?
Follow Vinnie’s and Reyan’s love story as she learns the true meaning of love, trust and family.

The plot is intriguing and is linked with subplots. These subplots takes us back to the main plot line. The author’s plot construction keeps us hooked till the end and one cannot leave this book in between. The strong force that binds a novel is its plot and the author has done full justice to it.

The author seem to have mastered the art of character portrayal. Reyan is an extremely hot guy who tries to woo Vinnie who seems to be indulged in her family. The quick connection between the two bothers Vinnie, for which she tries to ignore to him. Later, both ends up falling for each other and even after trying harder to control their wildest desires. Both are equally complex characters and have hidden secrets which are revealed while reading the chapters.

The friends and family and amazing role in their lives. The way they turn out to be fabulous confidantes is impeccable. I must say, Reyan and Vinnie make a hot couple.

The style of writing is poignant, lucid and beautiful. The author has placed correct words at the correct situation. The use of third person narrative and vivid impersonal descriptions of the places, nature of people makes it interesting. The use of point of views, stream of consciousness, drama, epistlary style, dialogues add flavors to it. This book surely touch the hearts of the readers and has a quality in it. Kuddos to the author for this piece.

Book Review of Finding Juliet

Finding Juliet by Toffee is a romantic fiction which was first online on Juggernaut books and later on it was published as a paperback version by Strishti Publishers.

61e1e-finding2bjuliet-2bcover.jpg

The cover of the book is intriguing as it features a nerdy guy and some random colour schemes that makes it stand out. The cover surely says that the story is about an average guy who is in search of love.

The title is fantastic and one just falls for the choice of the author. Finding Juliet reminds us of another Finding Juliet by Frank Sennett which is modern day story of Shakespeare in love. But this book is nowhere related to that book.

An incredibly nice guy turns into an irresistible flirt and learns the fine art of seducing women. A hilarious and heart-warming novel with some surprising nuggets of wisdom.

The plot is strong, crisp and binds the readers till the end. This is Arjun’s story. Two months ago, he moved from Hyderabad to Bangalore. Other than Anjali, Krish is the only good friend he has in the new city. One day, after noticing that Arjun is upset, Krish takes him to a pub and Arjun tells him his entire love story and the book moves into flashback.

He talks about his childhood in Hyderabad, about Anjali, who has been his friend since the first day at school. He talks about getting into an engineering college, about making friends with Amit and Rohan, about falling for Shraddha, the first girl he loved, about his love for cricket. He then goes on to talk about getting rejected by Neha in college. All through Anjali egged him on, motivated him. He then talks about landing up a job in Hyderabad, and meeting Saakshi, Amit’s friend, who comes to Hyderabad from Vizag with whom he decides to part ways due to their disparities.

Krish gets him a makeover and helps Arjun come out of the depression and find his mate.

How does he do it? Read on to find out.

The author has introduced wide range of characters which might confuse the readers. Especially the female characters which surely gives us a tough fight to guess whose the protagonist. As we reach the end, we come to know who plays the main lead and stays throughout. I find Arjun’s character really interesting. The way he changes from a completely dumbass to a casanova is mind blowing. His character makes us laugh, cry and lament at the same time. Whereas Krish has been a confidante to Arjun. The way he explains him the girl’s philosophy is really interesting.

There many things covered in this book. The relationships, lust, marriage, family, friendship. It can be called shades of life. We can notice almost all the segments one experiences in his life.

DSCN1935.JPG

The style of writing is eloquent. The way the author has used his words and sentences carefully makes it more meaningful. The witty dialogues, lyrical language makes it more rememberable. The poetic diction along with epistolary technique adds sense to it. Furthermore, the way the twists and turns are shown along with different set of side stories is the icing on the cake. This book is a must read if you want to read something simple and light. I am sure this book can be converted into a romantic comedy.

Pre- Release Review: Her Last Wish

It gives me an immense pleasure that I am the first one to read and review this book. Her Last Wish by Ajay K Pandey is his second book. This book talks about love in a unique way. Further, the elements of morality story can be seen in this piece.

Full_Cover.jpg

Cover- The cover is mesmerising, soothing and eye pleasing. One can feel that the two people in the cover are in love. This cover has beautifully highlighted one point,”It is important to be with each other”

Title- The title is simple but has a deeper meaning which we comes to knowin the end. Its not just the wish but the infinite love of a husband for his wife. The story revolves around it.

Genre- This novel can be categorised as a Romance or a Tragedy.

Blurb- Her Last Wish is a story of a guy burdened with his father’s  expectations and mother’s over protective rules. Then love walks into his life as his life partner. The story is his fight with the world and even destiny as he tries to pull his wife out of the clutches of a fatal disease, trying to fulfill her wishes and making her happy.

Plot- The plot construction is gripping and it surely keeps you glued till the end. The story is about Vijay who is a hopeless man. But when he gets married to Astha, a confident girl life changes for him. The way he handles her disease is the rest of the story. The story is unpredicatable. It looks simple to crack to the code but as you progress in your reading your notions are proved wrong.

Ad01.jpg

Characterization- The author has surely played with the minds of the characters. The best part is, all the characters in this story are round characters as everyone undergoes a change in the latter half of the novel. It is often stated that the protagonists are the favourite characters. They are always, but this time, I felt more connected to the supporting characters because without their role, the story would have no meaning. I am impressed by the mother and father of Vijay who are the pillars of this novel. The way they helped in the progression of the story is impeccable. I would say no father is like Vijay’s father and no mother is like Vijay’s mother. Vijay’s father played the role of a true friend in the lives of Vijay and Astha whereas Vijay’s mother is a confident woman whose love is unexplainable.

The book talks about morality. This takes us back to the ancient drama times where Morality Plays were shown. Well, these morality plays were based on human virtues like anger, sadnees, happiness, revenge, forgiveness. This novel has one of these virtues which are beautifully highlighted hence, I could make out that this is a morality story.

The Epistolary technique of novel writing used by author is an icing on the cake. These letters are in form of point of views of different which surely takes away the hearts of the readers.

Style- The style of writing of the author is surely unique. It is neither simple nor complicated yet it has some different essence of novel writing. Maybe the author writes as a husband, thats he can bore such emotions which just melts your heart and force you read the story. Some of the lines are heart touching and can become axioms in near future. The descriptions, editing are perfect. i would say the author has experimented with multiple point of views which is a huge risk but according to me, this is worth it. This book has surely stolen away my heart and I would strongly recommend you all to read it.
