Escapade- A Private Affair

9fb1d7db38416f3e213a216684a058f8

Life gets shitty with her scandalous talks. Nobody wants to go with her on long walks. Sarcasm is her cup of tea, which makes her tormented heart care free. She is not a bird but a caged sparrow, that has made her way shallow. Everyone laughs at her self- mockery, but little do they realise about her jeopardised crockery. She has a heart of gold which gets sold because of her black mole. Her eyelashes have a story which talks about her hidden glory. She cannot be anyone’s history because she carries a darkness of mystery. She is a mistress to that Prince whose wife calls her a pimp. She lives the life of luxury with caged ornaments of judiciary and boundary. She wants to be that runaway bride who wants to feel the ambience of air. She wants to live for her future is to die. She doesn’t want bondage and tacky tags but a respected name. She wants to show everyone that she is not a matter of shame but a name, used for fame. She lives in a palace where the walls are too strong for her own voice to reach her. She is never bounded by customs for they are meant for princesses.

She was once a princess who got defeated by a chivalrous warrior. He was a warrior in name and had nothing to give her in name. She loved him with her whole heart, but he made her the toy of every man’s hard rock. She lives the life of misery painted with a smile and a tear drop of glycerine. She cannot fight for the world will never grant her this right. She wants an escapade which can set her free from this jingled bondage life.

P.S : This is neither a poem nor a verse and not even a prose.. So I am confused what I ended up into. Feedbacks and suggestions are welcomed

Book Review of Soulless

Soulless by MV Kasi is a stream of consciousness novel. The book deals with serious issues like child abuse, drugs, alcohol and depression. Since its a serious issue type book but the author has balanced the seriousness with wit and humour.

soulless-book-cover

The cover of the book is dark. The chess game gives us a glimpse that it has mystery and suspense in it. At times, it seems unmatchable with the title and the theme of the book.

The title is Soulless which stands for a person who doesn’t care about anyone and their emotions. The title is apt as the protagonist has heartless traits. Still, there are many reasons behind this title which are uncovered as the reading proceeds further.

The format of the book is an ebook. I wish the author could have converted into a paperback, it would have a different essence.

This novel can be categorised in many ways. It is a social novel as the social issues like child abuse, drug addiction, sex addiction, alcohol addiction are concerned. Further, we can call it a psychological novel as it is difficult to deal with Sia’s psychology who seems addicted to many things and the way she behaves. We need to know psychology a bit if we are analysing her character. This can come under young adult or dark romance category as we say many intense love making scenes. Not only this, it can be further categorised a stream if consciousness novel as we come to know about the thought process of various characters.

They say when you take revenge you lose a part of your soul.

But Sia hadn’t felt her soul in a very long time. She only knew the soul-crushing fear and helplessness. Especially during the nights, when she fought an invisible enemy that terrorized her during the nightmares.
Her days weren’t any better either. She spent most of them trying to desperately gain control of her life while battling her various fears and addictions.
She was only twenty three, but she had resigned herself to live the rest of her life that way. Fearing the unknown.

Until it all changed one day…

Now she knew. She knew that the monster from her nightmares was real. And also that her soul had been ripped apart from her.
The memories had brought in fear, rage and pain, along with a strong craving for a swift payback.
But revenge was a dish best served cold. And it required a complete absence of emotion.
So now?
Now she plotted. And she schemed. She prepared herself in every possible way to hunt and destroy her enemy.
But every mission, however well planned can go awry. Sometimes it’s because even though one can be soulless, there is always the heart. A very weak and desperate heart that was being stolen by a man.
A man who was like a bright spark of vivid colors in her otherwise dark and dreary life.
A man…who was only supposed to be collateral damage.

The plot is neatly woven and is really crisp. The story revolves around Sia, who is a mysterious girl with so many secrets in her bag. She has a big motive of revenge which we come to know at the end of the book. The story is written in her voice and at times we hate her and at times we feel sympathetic towards her.

The characters are beautifully delineated. Sia’s character seeks a lot of attention as she is mysterious, bit cranky, rude and soft at the same time. She wants to avenge someone, for which she plans and plots. During this course she comes across a man who changes her life. She is a tormented soul and when things began to heal slowly, her past knocks at the door. The story ends in such a way that it makes a way for the next part. I feel Sia’s portrayal have been the toughest task for the author as she had to create a heartless character who was soft at some point.

The style of writing is simple, lucid and creative. The thirs person narrative along with vivid descriptions makes it poignant. The way the point of views is used, its mind blowing. The author surely confuse our minds at various points. It further has an episolar as well stream of consciousness technique in it. This book can be converted into a movie and I am sure, it will be a hit. There were minor errors in the editing as I could find some missing words, yet the subject matter cannot be ignored. The author has done a tremendous job in highlighting the serious issues which are often ignored.

Book Review of Ashvamedha: The Game of Power

Ashvamedha : The Game of Power by Aparna Sinha is an epoch making novel which is a mixture of romance, politics followed by gripping plot and mind blowing characters. The use of Stream of Consciousness is perfectly used. I got this copy in return of an honest review. Lets read between the lines :

51o5PL-EwIL.jpg

Cover- The cover of the book is intriguing with bit dark colour scheme followed by the image of the horse. This gives us the glimpse of power as the major subject of this book.

Title- The title is fascinating as the whole story revolves around the power. The subtitle clearly gives us the purpose of this novel and we get a clear picture about the novel.

Blurb- “You have to dethrone a powerful man to become the most powerful. I was itching to defeat the single most powerful person, but there wasn’t any. I was left with only one choice — to create one.”

Little does Ashwin Jamwal know that the last twenty-five years of his life have been controlled by a master manipulator, who wanted to make him the most powerful man on earth, though for a reason! Ashwin steps up to take oath as the youngest Prime Minister of India and is unknowingly thrown into a vortex of power and authority as the entire world is threatened by a faceless enemy — Hades.

The world starts to look up to Ashwin as the savior, but he was just a pawn, reared only to be sacrificed in the end.

A story of greed, lies, deceptions, manipulations and corruption, Ashvamedha is a thriller revolving around the infamous game of power in a maddening bid to seek absolute control.

Plot- The plot is gripping and a page turner. This is a simultaneous story of two people Ashwin Jamwal and Hades who come together in the end of the novel.  The biggest suspense of the novel is revealed in the end when these two come together.

Theme- There are variety of themes in this novel. The theme of dirty politics and corruption is poignant. The author carefully highlights this concept without causing any scandal or hurting anyone’s feelings from the political sector. It is a true picture which the author wants to show us.

Further, there is theme of romance between Ashwin Jamwal and Adya. They are true lovers who stay with each other, without any expectations. They got separated to come together when their lives completely change as Ashwin become’s the Prime Minister of India.

There is a theme of friendship between Arun and Ashwin. They both are adopted and are inseparable. They stay with each other through thick and thin. Even when Ashwin becomes the Prime Minister he never stops the contact between his best buddy. Both could go to any extend.

Characterisation- The author has artistically constructed her characters and my favourites are Ashwin Jamwal , Arun and Adya. Ashwin Jamwal is the protagonist who is the puppet in the hands of the society. The way he rise to power using his brain and the way others support him is all scripted. He has some aspirations which are fulfilled accordingly. He is a true friend as he is always there to support his best friend,Arun.

Arun is a true confidante of Ashwin Jamwal. Ashwin share everything with him. He can go to any extend to save his friend from this dirty politics of people and solve many of his problems.

Adya is the female protagonist in the story who loves Ashwin Jamwal from the core of her heart. They have a very short sequence at the start or rather say the opening is from Adya’s leaving him. It looks like they are not meant for each other. But when they bump into each other in a conference when Adya is the topmost Journalist whereas Ashiwin Jamwal is the Prime Minister of India. Their love blooms at the crucial time when Ashwin is stuck in a national threat by the terrorist named Hades.

Style-The style of writing is elegant and the way the author has used the varied range of sentences starting from simple to complex to compound is just fine. The book starts from a beautiful poem. The other wow factor is the quotes from Yajur Ved which shows author’s interest in our roots. Further we find mystery, suspense like elements which makes the book vibrant. The concept of schrizopherania is phantasmagorically highlighted. This book is a perfect instance of a well scripted book which has all the traits of blooming into a  successful movie. I wish the best for this book and I hope the directors surely approach the author.

Book Review of Bharathi and her theory for Everything

Bharathi and her theory for Everything by Anil C.S. Rao is science fiction. This book is the struggle between past and future which has so many elements to look upon. Lets analyse them :

81fMrEEgfYL.jpg

Cover- The cover of the book is simple and the author hasn’t paid much attention as he was more in writing the content of the book.

Title- This is long title and intriguing. it gives us that thirst which quenched after reading the story.

Blurb- To Bharathi, this was utterly horrific. If it were indeed the case then she was conceived the same way she saw Aryaraj molest older inmates in the encampment. As a result of this mischievous Roopa s revelation, Bharathi fell into a depression for (she had counted) forty days and forty nights. In her dreams she recalled a very ancient story Roopa had shared to her a year prior: about a Noah who bought two of every living thing on his arc when The World had been flooded in God s anger at human being s conduct on Earth. What would God think of now with the semi-robotic people that now inhabited Aryraraj s World? And worse: who was this God? Aryaraj often professed that he was eligible for this status or title.

About the book- The story is based on a girl named, Bharathi and her travels from past to future in 2070.She drifts away into her world and story moves as per her will and along with Bharati Arun Rao’s life is also narrated. Arun is a writer who is married to Reena, works at Harbour General Hospital and gets kidnapped. As story continues we discover who kidnapped Reena and other quests are also answered.

Style- The writing is simple and cinfusing at the times. There are some syntactical errors in the work. It is an easy read as the pages are not so long. The author confuse the readers in some pages and at times the reader takes a lot of time to come in contact with the story. I felt some of the parts were digressing.

POsitives-

This book has done full justice to the tech lovers.

The concept is unique.

Negatives-

Confuse the readers.

Digressive

Turn off for literature lovers

Book Review of The Mahabharta Code

THE MAHABHARATA CODE
by
KARTHIK K.B.RAO

The Mahabharta Code by Karthik K. B. Rao is a mythological fiction. The book has a unique concept with a blend of Mythology and Science Fiction. The book is the mixture of past generation and present generation. Well, I won this book in goodreads giveway and also I had signed up the blog tour of this book.IN this book, the author has played with the minds of the readers. Let me tell you more about it:

Cover- The cover of the book arises the urge to know more about the book. The colour scheme is fascinating.

Title- The title ‘The Mahabharta Code’ gives us the glimpse of the genre which it follows i.e. mythology and has many surprises stored for the readers.

Blurb- “The Mahabharata Code is a personal account of the main protagonist Narayan Rao (NR), who claims to be an astronomer with NASA. NR and a few other crew members agree to take part in the NASA mission to visit this mystery planet from which they had received mysterious signals. Here, they meet a man with a long flowing white beard, and he introduces himself as Vyasa. He reveals that he has a crazy plan in mind and seeks NR and his members’ help in implementing this plan. He intends to recreate the entire Mahabharata on this planet to restore the faith of the primitive simpletons here.

As the Mahabharata incidents start unfolding, NR realizes that Vyasa intends to recreate them page by page here, if not paragraph by paragraph. Also NR begins to realize that his son, Krishna, who is being groomed by Vyasa as Vishnu’s avatar, is nothing more than a pawn in Vyasa’s scheme of things. Other incidents of Mahabharata also unfold according to the original epic. Pandavas and Kauravas grow up hating each other and finally the restaging plan culminates with both the warring sets of cousins facing each other in the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

Inexplicably, like the original epic, Arjuna develops cold feet seeing his own cousins, teachers and relatives on the opposite side. He seeks Krishna’s divine intervention. Is the brainwashed “alien” Krishna prepared for this intervention?”

Plot- The plot is well knit and has no loose ends in it. The plot follows no digressions and has a unique concept in it. The protagonist is a NASA scientist who is tied in the knots of his subconscious mind which produced certain hallucinations where he could connect himself to the Mahabharta story. The author has played a tricky game which confuses the readers and keeps suspense till the end.
Characterisation- The author has beautifully portrayed the characters. The protagonist the complex character in the story. He looks flat but shifts to round and then ends up being complex. Even readers could not make it whether he is a flat one or round. The mention of Mahabharta characters and the stories related to them is impeccable. A new version of their views could be noticed.
STyle- The author has cleverly written this piece with lots of research on his side. The descriptions are perfectly delineated. The pace of the novel is steady. The combination of imagination and present is impeccable. The use of mythological jargons along with perfect editing skills makes this novel an amazing piece. The references listed at the end surely help us know his views and even serve as a guide for us if we counter check it. But at times, I felt there was confusion created maybe it was intentional so that the readers could not guess the suspense. This novel is a wonderful mashup of flashback technique and stream of consciousness.
